Rhodochrosite is usually opaque and layered with several colors, but gem grade is red and translucent. This dazzling pendant sets this gorgeous stone in a bezel with a hammered texture frame, with a freshwater pearl dangling just below. Designed and crafted by Michael Baksa, each one-of-a-kind piece is created in his Cape Cod, Massachusetts-based studio.

In 2014, veteran jeweler Michael Baksa moved his eponymous studio operation onto a boat, a unique circumstance which has lent an aspirational air of breezy natural wonder to his already-inimitable style. Working exclusively with 14k yellow gold (most often in a “crushed” style) and a wide variety of carefully sourced gemstones, Baksa specializes in distinctive statement pieces which dazzle the eye with their bold shapes and vibrant colors.
