Collection: Alex Šepkus

The late Alex Šepkus (1954-2021) was born in Kaunas, Lithuania, where his father would instill in him the understanding of precision and balance which is reflected in his work. He immigrated to the United States in 1988, netting the Jewelers of America New Designer of the Year Award within his first five years of work. The accolades kept coming from there!

A true original in the world of jewelry design, Alex was classically trained as a sculptor in a time when working with gold in Lithuania was illegal. His collections are inspired by everything from cherished books to medieval architecture to the apple orchard in his own backyard. He creates uniquely textured, museum-quality pieces known as much for their intricate details as they are for their irresistible sense of whimsy.

Today, fellow jeweler and longtime business partner Jeffrey Feero works to continue the legacy of Alex Šepkus’s art. The Alex Šepkus, Inc. workshop employs craftspeople who worked alongside Šepkus to execute the difficult hand finishing which makes his jewelry so distinct. A microscope is mounted on each craftsman’s bench in order to insure the fineness and delicacy required of each piece.
