We can recycle your gold and apply the scrap value towards a new project. Old gold requires time-consuming and labor-intensive process of cleaning and refining to become usable, castable gold again.
We promise that all of our diamonds are conflict-free and comply with the Kimberley Process. We offer AGS and GIA certified diamonds from trusted dealers we have worked with for over 40 years.
We go above and beyond by offering Canadian diamonds, Australian diamonds, and Russian diamonds that are traced from mine to market.
Lab-grown diamonds are an excellent choice for those who would rather support science than mining.
We carry a wide selection of loose and mounted estate and consignment diamonds in stock, to pass on heirloom stones and support the local economy.
We love supporting local non-profits! Call or email us with your specific request and we’d be happy to talk with you about how we can get involved.
We offer a variety of hypoallergenic materials to make jewelry that is easy to wear and safe for sensitive skin: platinum, palladium, white gold alloyed with palladium instead of nickel, stainless steel, cobalt chrome, tungsten, titanium, and more. You can find more information on each material on our Metals page.
We offer brokerage services to help you decide the best way to sell your jewelry. We work with reputable estate and diamond buyers to get you the best price for your jewelry.
We offer scrap value for old gold and platinum, in the form of check or store credit.
We carry custom and vintage jewelry on consignment.
If you aren’t sure what to do with it, please bring it in! We’re happy to advise and offer solutions.
We love helping create surprise proposals! We have a few ideas on how to get her or his finger size without asking:
- Enjoy a stroll around downtown Ann Arbor, and casually stop in to take a look around. Our discreet sales staff are happy to measure a finger size while you’re just “window-shopping.” We offer sips and sweets on Friday evenings, and we’ll be sure your sweetie never knows that there is a big surprise in the works!
- Borrow a ring he or she wears on the same finger on the same hand as the engagement ring will be worn.
- If you own calipers, send us the inside diameter of a ring that he or she wears on the same finger on the same hand as the engagement ring will be worn.
We specialize in refurbishing, re-designing, and updating heirloom jewelry:
Unset your gems and mount them in a new piece that you’ll love.
Customize the piece to the right length, size, or look for you.
Personalize the piece by changing out the old stones to your favorite gem or birthstone.
We’d love to help make it happen! In our decades of experience, we’ve created custom jewels to contain:
- a piece of the tree the couple had their first picnic under
- pebbles from a favorite trail
- grains of sand from a very romantic beach trip
- beach glass
- medals and awards
- cremated remains
We’re happy to guide you to the best way to incorporate the special material into your pieces.
We offer unbiased third party evaluation services, and can answer any questions you have about your new jewelry.
Bring in any third party laboratory reports, such as GIA certificate. When you arrive with your piece, we will discuss the purpose of the appraisal in order to determine the proper valuation. We ask you to leave your piece with us in order to complete the appraisal.
Your jewelry will be inspected for any damage or loose stone settings. We carefully clean your jewelry by ultra-sonic or hand-polishing and finish with a steam cleaning. Then your item is photographed.
Next, your jewelry is inspected in the lab for detailed quality and condition information. We determine and record the gemstone measurements, condition, color, clarity, cut, and quality; as well as identifying information such as laser-inscription. We determine and record the mounting’s style, condition, and characteristics. Third party documentation is then reviewed.
The next step is research: we gather elements of the valuation like pricing information and comparable sales and analyze the market. Then we assign valuation based on the purpose and intended use that we established in the initial step. The methods used in researching conform to the American Gem Society approach.
Finally, we compile the detailed description, photograph, and valuation into a comprehensive appraisal document.
We are happy to answer all your questions. We love to educate so you fully understand your jewelry; ask us anything about value definitions, gem testing, diamond grading, or antique secondary markets.
